I am the luckiest woman in the world. On September 24, 2011 I married the man of my dreams and every day since then has been the best day of my life. My favorite part of our wedding day was our ceremony, which honestly came as a surprise. We had our dear friend Karen Baird (who I volunteer with in Africa) officiate the wedding and Morgan Garrard (my husbands childhood friend) perform a special ritual. The ritual consisted of our immediate family (grandparents and parents) each contributing an item to our “time capsule.” Our capsule was an adorable container we’d purchased from Anthropologie. Each family member contributed something tangible (cotton from my family farm, a compass, dirt, etc…) and explained it’s symbolism to us and how it was to serve as a reminder of where we both come from as we enter our future together. It was very special to me and every time I look at the capsule in our home I am reminded of our day.
Grant and I also wrote our own vows with the template of “I am here because…” “I love you because…” “I promise to…” In addition to our vows, every word of our ceremony was carefully scripted by Grant and I with the help of Karen to complete a service that felt very familiar and special to us.
Above all, our wedding day would not have been possible without the amazing talent at Beth Helmsetter. We are forever grateful to have had Beth come into our lives and make this day more than we could have ever imagined. Beth has a way of taking your family history and combining it with your taste in creating a timeless, classic event that feels fresh and truly unique.
In addition, our dear friend Lauren Ross captured the day so beautifully that every time I look at our pictures I tear up. Also, we almost forgot that our wedding day was being recorded until we were shown the amazingly beautiful video that LoveSpun created. This special piece of work will be watching at every anniversary in the many years to come.
Our wedding day was F-U-N. We were surrounded by our families and dear friends and there wasn’t a moment where you couldn’t feel love and loved. I realize that I am so very blessed & lucky to have such an extraordinary life. I also realize that what goes up, must eventually come down and things will not always be so “picture perfect.” As for now, I am very much enjoying the “up” in our lives and feeling so happy to be happy.
After our wedding we went on an 18 day honeymoon which you can see photo’s from and read about by searching “honeymoon” on the blog and come up with these past posts.

I’m never a person who post comments on blogs (too shy!) but this post touched me and made me teary eyed. You and your husband are beautiful together. During his vow “before we met neither of us thought we’d be here” those are my thoughts exactly today, I never would think or can imagine being in a wedding dress but seeing your wedding clip just gave me hope that one day, I too will find the one. Goes to show that each day may bring and unfold something beautiful, unexpected in our lives..
wishing you both health and happines-Patricia
PS your pupps are adorable!!!!!

Searching your website I got here. I watched your wedding video and it touched my heart so deep inside. It made me cry for watching the images of true love, that true love that we find reading a good love story or watching a good romance film. Congratulations on your wedding and may your true and deep love last forever!

I love the handkerchief tradition. That would have to be the best part. I wish my family had a tradition like that.

Oh Jacey,
I am a regular reader but have never seen this video. It made me cry. Your vows were exquisite. I feel so blessed that you shared this with your readers. It has given me something to aspire to in love – to wait for a man who writes letters like the one that went with the watch. Blessings to you and Grant xx JB
