It’s January 8th and if you haven’t done so already, it’s high time you go on a maaadddd cleaning frenzy in your closet! There’s nothing better than setting the year off on the right heel with a freshly cleaned closet. You know what they say “Clean closet = clear mind”… I’m not sure who said that, I kinda just made it up…but it makes sense right?

I am often asked to write more on the blog, but rarely do I feel the need. You can only say so much about a pair of heels and I try to save my words for when they count most. I wanted to take a moment to wish you all an incredibly happy holiday season. Before we know it, December will have come and gone along with the joys {and sorrows} of the season that is meant to make us all the cheeriest. But what is it about Christmas that brings out so many different emotions? Is it the gifts under the tree, or the pressure to put gifts under the tree? Perhaps it is the lights in the windows that take you back to your first Christmas tree lighting? Maybe for you, it is the smell of a home cooked meal that reminds you there’s no place like Mom’s kitchen.  Or the picturesque view of a snowman resting in your front yard that, when you were a child, seemed worthy of being magically brought to life. The holidays are happy, the holidays are sad. A funny thing happened the other day that gave me a clue as to why I, like many others, feel happy:sad during the holidays.

It’s the most, wonderful time of the week: CHAMPAGNE THURSDAY!
And while this particular cocktail doesn’t call for champagne, I hope you are somewhere cheersing your early Friday drinks toward a happy weekend!

Merry Berry Christmas Sugar Cocktail:

Muddle 5 fresh raspberries, blueberries, 2 fresh blackberries, light agave nectar, mint leaves, ginger ale & lime juice in a cocktail shaker. Stir in crushed ice and vodka. Cover with lid, and shake vigorously until thoroughly chilled (7 to 10 seconds). Pour mixture into a 16-oz. glass, and top with ginger ale if desired. Garnish with mint.

I’m not gonna lie: It’s the end of the year and I am tired. I’m tired of being social. I know it sounds just plain awful, but after 11 months of being “ON” and a month long full of work events, dinner dates, lunch meetings and breakfast brainstorms, I am just about maxed out and need to hit the reset button. But . . . the holidays aren’t over yet and with a few more holiday happenings, I thought I would share a few conversation starters that I’ve found helpful to have in my back pocket from time to time.

To me, dressing up a table is just as fun {and just as important} as the way we dress ourselves! Some of the most memorable moments happen around the family dinner table. When hosting a gathering, no matter if it’s for a party of 2 or 10, my goal is to transform my home into an escape for my guests. When friends and family step through our doors, I want them to step into a winter wonderland where love is felt, laughter had and memories are made. This holiday season, I encourage you to take the extra step, whether it’s tying ribbon around your silverware or adding a piece of garland to your table scape, and see what a big difference it makes for both you and your guests’ holiday spirit!

For this shoot, the lovely team over at Found Vintage Rentals provided me with amazingly unique and truly special pieces. I especially loved the vintage wagon & rustic farm style wooden table. We used Found Vintage Rentals last year for our wedding too!
