Jet Set: Rome
1.31.13True Story: I packed for my 18 day honeymoon in a Tumi just like the one above. It is possible! I recently heard from Megan, who is jet setting to Rome then Capri in a few weeks where temperatures are expected to hit in the low 50s {brrr!}. While packing for chilly weather can be tough, it’s all about layers! In effort to squeeze everything in her carry on, I suggest you carry on your coat and try to pack as many mix and match options as possible!
Stuart Weitzman 5050 Boots {$595} // Wallis Camel Coat {$56} // Splendid Leggings {$60} // Black Tieks {$165} // Tumi Roll On {$795} // Gap Tote {$104} // Knitted Sweater {$72} // Cable Socks {$12} // Sleep Mask {$28}
Aside from wearing the above to jet set across the pond, here are a few other packing tips to travel by:
1. Madewell Sweatershirt Dress {$118} // 2. J. Crew Tippi Sweater {$80} // 3. Black Booties {$97} // 4. Gap Two Toned Clutch {$30} // 5. Equipment Blouse {$248}, Chambray Shirt {$70}, Green Popover Blouse {$70} // 6. Black J Brands {$150} // 7. James Perse Tank {$50} // 8. Glass Stone Necklace {$128} //

Great tips. I always over-pack but in reality only wear 1/2 of it!

The weather in Italy is quite unpredictable now, but Rome and Capri shouldn’t be very cold. Rome is one of the most beautiful cities, it’s unbelievable. There’s a place where you can go to eat or drink something which seems like an atelier of an artist, there’re sculptures everywhere. It’s in Via del Babuino and it’s called Atelier Canova.

Awesome tips. A sweater or a light jacket can be a lifesaver. I’m a travel novice and forgot a jacket at home. I used it as an excuse to shop and, thankfully, was able to find an excellent one.
I’ve always wanted to visit Italy.

I went to Capri and Positano for my honeymoon but I thought all the hotels on Capri closed in “off season” … that part of Italy is so gorgeous !

I’m going to bookmark this post because it will help me tremendously for our trip at the end of the summer (or, you can help me with my packing dilemma with a new post on warm weather travel essentials!) we will be going to Europe in August and will be spending 1 week in Paris, 1 week in the South of France (Marseille, St Tropez, Cannes, Nice, Antibes, Monaco) and then 1 week in London. My husband is already anxious about how much luggage I’ll be bringing and has challenged me to just using my large backpacking backpack!

Thank you for this packing list and tips! I’m leaving for a 2 week cruise through France/Italy/Croatia in April and have been looking everywhere for a stylish, but minimal packing list. My goal is to pack as light as possible, and I’m pretty sure you helped me do this!

Help. I’m taking my teenage kids to the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas in two weeks and could use a packing guide for me. There isn’t a lot of vacation type clothing out now. I have no idea what to bring. I could use a damsel guide
